 | The Only Networking Book You'll Ever Need Mar 18, 2009 |
'Focused Networking' is an enlightening foray into the techniques and attitudes required to successfully market yourself and your business through networking.
This book is written in a warm but engaging style. It is clear, concise and directly to the point. It takes a subject that intimidates many people and breaks it into easily digestible steps. Though it will certainly educate and inspire those who are just starting out, it also contains many insights that will help re-focus the experienced marketer.
It contains all the information on this topic one could ever need, as well it should: Lisa Bentson and her mother Ali Lassen were the founders of Leads Club, the first Business Networking group in the world. She speaks on this subject around the world, and is the acknowledged expert in this field. | | | | Focused Networking Feb 1, 2009 |
i am in the process of reading Lisa Bentson's Focused Networking. i have to say, chapter 4, alone, is worth the price of the book. this a a chapter on how to accomplish your networking goal when in a large (or small) group of people you don't know. i am in print sales and have been 'networking' for years yet going into a business after hours, or even a friend's birthday party, not knowing but a few people is always daunting for me. Chapter 4 gives a step by step 'how to' meet new people and move effortlessly in and out of conversations, meeting the other people in the room and making the connections that will build your business/personal growth. the day after i 1st read this chapter, i attended a function where i knew i might only know 2 other people yet, using Lisa's 'be the host' idea, i was very comfortable and effective in meeting 10 new people. It was fun and I was thrilled by the outcome.
