The best way to ensure that readers will stick to a budget is to help them create a lifestyle that is as much fun as it is practical. 40 color.

Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | Very impressed! Dec 4, 2009 |
I was uncertain when I bought this book if it was what I was looking for, as a simple living person. I own "The Tightwad Gazette" and though many SL people love it, I found it a little too hardcore and un-palatable for my current lifestyle at the moment. Maybe someday I will review that book again.
This modern book is a wonderful angle - saving money for the average person, but still maintaining quite the good lifestyle. I just can't put this 10,001 ways to live large (on a small budget) book down. I really love that it's compiled articles from a lot of different writers, so just in case you don't love one's viewpoint or style, there's so many more! Did I mention it has a very easy-read format and most writer's pieces are not too long?
I chuckled when I read 'Subway's $5 for a footlong' easy romantic outing ideas on the cheap. We've done that many times at the picnic/park. :)
My favorite sections are grocery tips, kid party tips, and household tips. Heck, I love reading any part of this book. This is a keeper! | | | | Verrry Helfpul Dec 1, 2009 |
I love this book! The list format makes it extremely easy to use. Just go to the section you desire and look at the lists of tips. I read the whole thing in it's entirety, but I'll definitely be keeping it nearby as a reference whenever I need tips.
I also loved the amount of information in there. I always considered myself a seasoned frugalista, but these things put even me to shame. I'd recommend this to everyone. Yep, everyone. We can all use a little financial advice every once in awhile. | | | | Fun while Learning Sep 14, 2009 |
| This book is chock full of helpful information - written in a style that invites the reader to keep delving into it. | | | | 10,001 Ways to Live Large On a Small Budget Aug 18, 2009 |
| If you are looking for ways to save money (and who is not these days?) on the things you do and use on your daily life, this is the right book for you. There are a lot of suggestions for a variety of situations and needs, from savings on your visit to a supermarket to preparing a wedding without going over budget. This is a keeper! | | | | Very useful to help you live within your means Aug 14, 2009 |
I decided to read this book because I heard that it can save me money on airline tickets, and since I fly a lot, it got my attention. Because this book is based on a blog, I found it a bit difficult to find what I wanted. Also, it was written by several writers with different writing styles.
But I really enjoyed flipping through it and reading all kinds of tips on how to save money in areas such as finance, travel, and entertainment. From my experience, it is the little things here and there that add up to a large sum at the end of the month.
Some people might be motivated to use these tips only because the economy is doing poorly. It would be similar to eating nutritious food only for a while and going back to one's old eating habits after losing 30 pounds. I believe some of these tips are so useful that they should be made permanent. I enjoyed reading it, and I recommend it. The book would also make a great gift.
